Applying for your home loan

Stressed out about applying for a mortgage? You don't have to be. Being close to many lenders in Boulder has helped me recognize a lot of the things that can make the process of applying for a loan easy.

1 – Create a list of questions regarding your loan program

Be sure you have a list of questions with you if you do not thoroughly understand the pros and cons of all the various loan programs. It can be a challenge to know the distinctions between both fixed and adjustable rate mortgages. I or one of my lenders will be able to assist you with understanding the advantages and disadvantages of each program.

2 – Determine when to lock

By locking in the interest rate, your mortgage lender is committing to the mortgage interest rates for the loan – generally at the time the loan application is submitted. By floating the rate, you can lock the rate at any time between application and issuance of closing documents. Buyers who decide to float think that the interest rates will plunge in the near future. 3 – Determine if you want to pay additional points to lower your rate
